During the economic expansion following WWII, McEwen Lumber opened its first branch in SC on Rutherford Road in Greenville. Focused largely on the cabinet and furniture industries that benefited from the nation’s growing demand for housing, the branch outgrew that facility and relocated to the current site at the Donaldson Center in 1964. After ninety-one years of family ownership, McEwen Lumber was acquired by International Paper in 1987. Eight years later, Hood Industries purchased McEwen Lumber from IP. The name may have changed, but the experienced staff stayed and they continue our tradition of providing courteous and knowledgeable assistance to our customers.
