Many of the mills own most of the timberland located within a 100-mile radius, allowing for uniform processing, drying, and milling — so customers receive the same quality product, time after time. The result is a clear-faced board with a smooth finish, offered in random even lengths.

The natural color of Appalachian hardwoods is another standout feature. Because of the shorter growing seasons in the region, the trees absorb fewer minerals from the soil. This helps preserve the true tones of each species — whether it’s the soft, creamy hues of poplar or the rich, deep reds of cherry.
