The Memphis facility was built in 1975 as “International Paper Company Building Materials Distribution” primarily to serve retail lumber dealers. After being acquired in 1987, we started doing business as McEwen Lumber Company. Already having the building materials experience and customer base, we began to cater to architectural millwork houses, cabinet shops, and furniture manufacturers.
Hood Industries purchased McEwen from IP in 1995, and changed its name first to Hood Distribution/McEwen Group and more recently, to Hood Distribution Memphis, TN Branch. The name may have changed, but we still have the same friendly and experienced staff as before.
Our 8-acre facility with 80,000 square feet of covered storage is located in southern Memphis. Our location enables us to effectively service an approximate 200-mile radius of Memphis. Our mission remains to build and maintain lasting relationships with our customers by offering high-quality products along with excellent service.
