General Characteristics
Lock-Deck® is a structural laminated decking system used in heavy timber construction and hybrid wood-framed buildings. Manufactured by Disdero Lumber, it’s made by face-gluing kiln-dried lumber laminations and offsetting the center ply to form a tongue-and-groove profile — creating a product that’s both structurally robust and visually appealing.
Each plank is composed of 2 to 5 kiln-dried laminations, bonded with a waterproof exterior adhesive to ensure long-term stability and performance. Lock-Deck is commonly used in ceilings, roofs, balconies, mezzanines, and floor systems, delivering the warmth of natural wood with the strength of engineered timber.
It’s available in nominal sizes from 3×6 to 5×8, in species including Douglas Fir/Larch, Inland Red Cedar, Ponderosa Pine, and Southern Yellow Pine. Three grades are offered:
- Industrial (non-appearance)
- Decorative (high-end stock, used in 95% of applications)
- Supreme (clear face)
Boards are edge- and end-matched, with options for smooth or textured faces, V-joint or square edges, and factory prefinishing. Standard lengths range from 6′ to 16′, with specified tallies available and extended lengths up to 32′ using structural end joints.
