General Characteristics
Padauk is very hard and coarse in texture with an interlocking grain pattern. It is also commonly known as Vermillion.
Padauk is light to dark red in color with contrasting streaks throughout.
Typical Applications
Padauk is primarily used as an accent wood in upper end cabinetry and furniture.
It is also not uncommon to find smaller fine furniture pieces constructed entirely out of Padauk.
