General Characteristics
Walnut has been a popular choice among woodworkers for many years. It machines and glues very well and is extremely stable.
The heartwood is brown to black, and the sapwood is basically white. Walnut is one of the few woods that actually lighten (instead of darken) with age.
Typical Applications
Walnut is used extensively in the manufacturing of fine furniture and cabinetry.
